Meet the BEST on Broadway team...

Tony Peña

Tony picked up his first massage book in 1982 (Frederick LeBoyer's Loving Hands: The Indian art of Baby Massage), and has maintained an interest in bodywork ever since. At that time he was five years into his law-enforcement stint and would remain therein until 1990.

In 1991/1992 he attended and successfully completed the 1000 hour massage therapy program offered at The Boulder School of Massage Therapy. Since then he has continued his bodywork education studying myofascial release, craniosacral, muscle energy and myoskeletal alignment techniques to name, but a few.

In addition to his bodywork studies, Tony is an avid practitioner/teacher of yoga. Follow this link to see Tony's teaching schedule. The combination of his yoga practice and bodywork studies have complemented each other and have instilled a hunger for better understanding the human body that continues to this day. Emerson, in his essay entitled Self Reliance, wrote: "Insist on yourself; never imitate. Your own gift you can present every moment with the cumulative force of a whole life's cultivation". It is this same spirit that Tony brings to the table every session.

Tony is a terrific massage therapist.

Tony is a terrific massage therapist. I've been to health clubs, spas and resorts all over the country and nobody can hold a candle to him. He has an unbelievable wealth of knowledge, endless energy and a fabulous music selection. I used to think of massages as a luxury. Now that I've been going to Tony, they've become an integral part of my well being!

Mary Pike

Mary is a Gator. Even though she earned her MSW from Florida State, her Bachelor's degree is from the University of Florida and it is with the Gators that her loyalties remain. After having spent more than 20 years in the Criminal Justice field as a social worker, Mary decided she was ready for a change.

It was during her pregnancy with her first child that Mary first experienced massage and was hooked. Not only did the massage provide some much needed relief physically; it also allowed her to experience her pregnancy in a whole new way. For the next few years Mary continued to receive massage on a regular basis and began studying to become a lactation counselor. Mary went on to become a volunteer for the Nursing Mothers Council while still employed in the criminal justice field.

In the year 2000 Mary decided to follow her passion to help others and enrolled in the massage program offered by The Center of Advanced Therapeutics. Upon completion of her program Mary began her career as a massage therapist at a local spa. Her passion for excellence is manifested in her desire to always learn more ways of helping her clients, not just new techniques, but ways that will help achieve desired outcomes.

Her continuing education includes Massage for the Childbearing Year and infant-massage instruction. This, coupled with her lactation studies, and years in social work, make her a incredibly gifted resource not only for the expectant mother, but for anyone in need of quality bodywork.

After receiving my first massage from Mary,
I knew there was a difference.

I have been receiving massages for stress and pain reduction for many years. After receiving my first massage from Mary, I knew there was a difference. She takes the time to listen to my concerns and has adjusted her techniques each session to focus on my problem areas. I always feel better when I leave and have noticed a significant reduction of my chronic pain and an increase in flexibility. I can highly recommend both Mary and Tony. Try them once and you'll keep going back.

Jennifer Bissland

Jennifer was born and raised in Bowling Green, Ohio in an art inspired family. Her mom was a hairstylist and salon owner for many years while her dad, who is an exceptional watercolorist, taught high school art. She has been a hairstylist since 1989 and has traveled the country doing hair and makeup for hair trade shows and theater productions. She loves her job, and chose a creative career with a flexible schedule that enables her to have time to pursue her hobbies including art and theater.

Jennifer is currently working on furthering her art career. In 2006 she entered her work in an art show for the first time and won the People’s Choice Award. Jennifer loves combining her artistic ablitlies with her hair skills in order to give you a haircut and color which make you look and feel your best. In her free time Jennifer loves to ski, sing karaoke, act in community theater, and work on her art projects.

I've been going to Jen for my hair for years...

and when she moved to BEST on Broadway it turned out to be the best for everyone. I love coming here because of the intimate atmosphere and the fact that is not the usual hectic salon. Everyone is nice and welcoming and it is always a relaxing experience.

Susan Pike

Susan entered the field of aesthetics after working in the dental field for 17 years. Although it was a great field to be in to raise her 2 sons, the time came for a change. Susan always enjoyed her spa days over the years and developed an interest in the science of skin care. When the opportunity arose Susan found herself going back to school to persue her dream and desire to provide the transformation of dry, tired, problematic skin into a healthy, radiant complexion.

Susan graduated from the aesthetic program at International Beauty Academy in Colorado Springs, became licensed and has obtained her state certification in microdermabrasion and chemical peels at the College of Body Arts and Sciences in Denver.

Susan has a special interest in working with those with acneic skin whether it be teens or adults and has taken advanced classes to better help that population. When she's not helping people have beautiful skin, Susan can be found at a beach or out dancing.

Susan has been taking care of my eyebrows
for a year.

I have never looked better! It is always a pleasure to have any
of her services because it is so relaxing. Susan is always professional and I appreciate that.

Caryn Cheyfitz

Caryn's commitment to living a healthy and balanced life has been stregthened by studying massage, yoga and vegetarian cooking. She entered the healing profession as a massage therapist when moving with her husband to Colorado in 2001.

She became a Certified Massage Therapist in 2006 after completing her 700 hour program at the Colorado School of Healing Arts. Before that Caryn served as a Montessori teacher in Pennsylvania and a college administrator in Missouri and Virginia.

As a workaholic mother (and like many stressed-out adults in our society) she used caffeine and sugar to get through the day. Today, Caryn is continuing her studies with classes in oncology massage and energy work and believes the benefits of giving and receiving massage not only help our bodies to reduce stress and function optimally, but help us to connect more deeply with our spirits. Her volunteer commitments include serving as planner for a children’s peacemaking village which recently brought 72 children and leaders from 14 countries to Littleton, Colorado. She still drinks coffee (but not so much!).

Caryn was considerate, thoughtful and gentle.

She understood any possible complications of my treatments and provided an environment conducive to relaxation.
